SOCIAL AND ECOLOGICAL RESPONSIBILITY

Corporate social and environmental responsibility is the responsibility we demand of ourselves in relation to the environment, society and our employees. It is a voluntary commitment that goes beyond our legal obligations.
We are constantly working to expand the list of measures we implement:

  • We apply ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria to the Foundation’s investments.
  • We are part of the network of alternative and solidarity economies, as we belong to the Anagos Network (Canary Islands Network of Institutions for the Promotion and Inclusion of Social and Labour Workers).
  • We work with FIARE, a bank that is different from the others: It is a non-profit co-operative that practices ethical financing.
  • The ecological footprint of producing a mobile phone is very large. That’s why our company mobile phones are second-hand.
  • Our phone provider is no ordinary company. We are very happy to work with SOM CONNEXIÓ, a responsible non-profit organisation that practices social and cooperative economy.
  • In order to contribute to the decentralised and sustainable energy model to which we are committed, we supply our facilities with photovoltaic solar panels.
  • We have opted for a non-profit green energy consumer cooperative for our electricity contracts. SOM ENERGIA markets and produces energy from 100% renewable sources.
  • When purchasing products of any kind, we prefer to choose local suppliers in order to support the Canarian economy and reduce the environmental impact of transport.
  • When we order company t-shirts with our own design, we want them to be made of organic cotton, ethically produced, with water-based inks and printed by hand. Many thanks to CHORLITO for providing all of this.
  • There are many options for laptop bags on the market, but we chose to order them from NADA PERSONAL, a small local sewing company that made them by hand.
  • To ensure that our team does not use plastic bottles, the company AGÜITA made stainless steel water bottles for us with a 100% Canarian design.
  • As far as our staff is concerned, we have a majority of women in positions of responsibility.
  • The working conditions of the employees in our foundation are always better than those stipulated in the collective labour agreement.
  • To make it easier for our employees to combine work and family life, we have flexible working hours and promote teleworking wherever possible.
  • We are committed to the continuous professional development of our employees. For this reason, we allocate a significant budget item each year for this purpose.
  • To improve teamwork, we have group facilitation rooms where we work on cohesion, emotional management and conflict resolution.
