CONSTITUTION AND STATUTES
The Foundation for Nature and the Environment Canarina is an independent, non-profit making, legally constituted foundation, founded by Horst Eckert in Constance (Germany) on 02/02/2021, with the main objective of promoting environmental and animal protection through scientific studies, scientific events, research work and support for environmental education.

On 15/11/2021 the agreement of the Foundation for Nature and Environment Canarina to establish a delegation in the Canary Islands was made public. This delegation is registered in the Register of Canary Islands Foundations on 08/03/2022 under number 389 (Consult Register of Canary Islands Foundations), being under the control of the Protectorate of Canary Islands Foundations.

Both the parent foundation and the delegation in the Canary Islands have their sole sphere of action in the Canary Islands and are governed by the provisions of their statutes:
OBJECTIVES OF THE FOUNDATION
- The foundation pursues exclusively and directly the aims of public utility.
- The aim of the foundation is to promote the protection of the environment and animals.
These objectives shall be achieved by means of scientific studies, the organisation of scientific events, the awarding of research projects, the support of education in the field of the environment and conscious behaviour for the conservation of nature.
In order to achieve these objectives, the following tasks in particular are considered:
- Protecting animals in the broad sense of the term.
- To protect, conserve and restore nature, the environment and ecosystems.
- To protect, conserve and restore biotic environmental factors (flora and fauna).
- To protect, conserve and restore abiotic environmental factors (soil, water, atmosphere, climate and landscape).
- To create new natural areas or extend existing ones.
- To raise awareness and sensitise the population to the importance of protecting nature and the environment.
- To promote projects that result in the sustainability of the region.
- Promote measures to mitigate the consequences of climate change.
- Promote projects aimed at improving food and energy sovereignty in the region.
- Promote green building.
- Support and promote sustainable economic activities with the territory.
ORGANS OF THE FOUNDATION
The foundation’s governing body is the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees is the legal representative of the Foundation in and out of court. It shall also ensure the constant and sustainable fulfilment of the Foundation’s objectives and shall be responsible for the management of the Foundation. It is composed of the following members:

NON-PROFIT CHARACTER
- The foundation acts altruistically and does not pursue profit-making objectives. The foundation’s resources may only be used to achieve the objectives set out in the statutes.
- The founder and his heirs do not receive any income from the foundation’s resources.
- No person shall be favoured by expenditure that is not in line with the purpose of the foundation or by excessively high remuneration.
FINANCING
The following principles shall apply to the maintenance and administration of the foundation’s assets:
- The assets of the foundation shall be preserved as such. No funds shall be withdrawn for the achievement of the objectives.
- The Foundation shall fulfil its objectives with means derived from the income of the Foundation’s assets. The foundation’s board of trustees may establish investment rules for this purpose.
- The foundation is entitled to receive donations.
SUPERVISION OF THE FOUNDATION
The Foundation is subject to the supervision of the Government Office of Freiburg im Breisgau.
The Delegation in the Canary Islands is under the supervision and control of the Protectorate of Foundations of the Government of the Canary Islands.
