Corporate social and environmental responsibility

“Corporate social and environmental responsibility is the responsibility that each organisation has towards the environment in which it operates and towards the society of which it is a part”.

As far as Canarina Foundation’s social and environmental responsibility is concerned, we would like to point out some of the corporate decisions made in an attempt to demonstrate the coherence we are striving for. Of course, we are working to ensure that this list continues to grow:

  • We apply ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria to the Foundation’s investment funds.
  • When purchasing all kinds of products, we prefer to work with local suppliers to support the Canarian economy and reduce the environmental impact of transport.
  • The ecological footprint in the production of a mobile phone is very large. That is why our company mobile phones are second hand.
  • Our phone provider is no ordinary company. We are very happy to work with SOM CONEXIÓ, a responsible, non-profit mobile company that practices social and cooperative economics.
  • We have also chosen a non-profit consumer cooperative for our electricity. SOM ENERGÍA markets and produces energy from 100% renewable sources.
  • When we order company t-shirts with our own design, we want them to be organic cotton, ethically produced, with water-based inks and hand-printed. Many thanks to CHORLITO for providing all of this for us.
  • There are many options on the market for laptop bags, but we chose to order them from NADA PERSONAL, a small local sewing company that makes them by hand.

  • With the goal of our team not using plastic bottles, the company AGÜITA made some stainless steel bottles for us with a 100% Canarian design.
  • Our business cards are made from recycled material. In addition, they have a QR code that can be scanned directly with a mobile phone without having to deliver the card in physical form. In this way, we reduce paper consumption.
